More stamping!

There must be one of those Murphy’s Laws, or a proverb in a fortune cookie, that says: when you are playing with your nail stamping, it will looks great – when you are trying to create an awesome manicure with stamping,  (that you want to post on your blog) – it will keep screwing up and looking gross 😦

If a saying doesn’t exist, I will have to figure out how to shorten that.   And make it one 🙂

I also tried a great idea by poundandprincess – which was to stamp on the Ghoulish Glow “glow in the dark” polish that came in the Wicked Collection.  It would have worked, if the polish was able to go on thicker – but the amount that gets left in the plate to get stamped, wasn’t enough to show up in the dark 😦  It was a good idea though!

Alas, I have a mediocre mani to show you, and have put away my stamping stuff in it’s drawer…for a long while.

My first try:

And, the next try:

Ohhh, it’s not that bad, I guess! 🙂

Have an awesome day!

More Stamping Konad and Bundle Monster (Cupcakes and spots and sprinkles, OH MY!)

As you can see, I was going for a certain desert like theme.  I don’t quite have the sprinkle application down – but really, how often will I have the opportunity to practice?  This may be as good as it gets 🙂  Still kind of cute!

My ring finger:  I put a thick coating of clear polish, and then dipped it in sprinkles.
Every other finger on my left hand:

1. base colour “Finger Paint” Don’t make a scene

2. Bundle Monster stamp BM-307 (cupcake) using Konad special white polish

3. Small dotting tool to create colourful “sprinkles”

4.  Seche Vite top coat

And on my right hand – I went with a simple leopard print stamp. Konad stamp M57 with Konad special polish in black with the same base colour as my left hand.

Aside from the streaking from the top coat application – I think my stamping technique is getting better !

Have a great day!

Konad Nail Stamping

For those not familiar with Konad –  – it is a brand name (the best available in my opinion) of a nail art technique called nail stamping.

First – put nail polish on an image that has been engraved on special plate.

Second – quickly scrape pff nail polish, and what is left behind is only in the grooves.

Third –  Take the special rubber stamper and roll the rubber side (pressing gently) onto the image to pick up nail polish – therefore picking up image.

Fourth – Roll rubber stamp with image, onto fingernail,  Image will be left behind.

Oh la la – super cool !
That is what I have been working on for the past day and a half, whenever I get a minute or two to myself – I do a nail.  So, those photos will be posted tonight.

In the meantime – here is an image of the tools used to do nail stamping:
