Gooey Glitter (no, that’s Jelly)

The saying is something along the lines of “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”  – right?

Well, I hope it is – because I just copied another manicure (and by copy, I mean attempted – definitely not exact copy).   And I hope the original artists consider it flattering, and not just forgery! (can nail art be forged?)

I always try my best to add the link and artists name/blog, so you guys can check them out and also, give them credit for the original idea/design. (good blog etiquette if you aren’t doing this already)

This one, is from a blogger I follow daily – she always has something creative and beautiful on her nails 🙂   Polish Acolholic.

From her Day 23 (31 day challenge) Glitter manicure.

With my attempt – I used Nfu Of Jelly JS01 and my own frankenpolish, which is a mix of spectraflair polish and holographic glitter dust.

First was 2 layers of the glitter polish and a thick layer of Seche Vite top coat to smooth the bumps.  After that had dried, I taped triangle pieces of tape, and painted the Nfu of black jelly.  And once that was dry, I removed the triangles and added two more layers of Seche Vite top coat, to give it an extra smooth glossy look.

So strange, here in the daylight photo, you can see the grooves where the tape was – you would never know there was a ton of top coat filling that area.

“Glitter Smoosh” sponging with stamping!

Great name, huh?  LOL

I started with a China Glaze “Mahogany Magic” base, and then just sponged on a bunch of different glitter or metallic polishes on top.

I like how my thumb turned out.  Wish I had paid attention to the colors I was using 🙂 😦

And, as you can imagine …. this didn’t stay on long, so I have another post coming up very soon with a new manicure 🙂

See you shortly!

Holo Holoween Part II

Okdokie, this is the real post.

The reason for the previous “test” post was because I needed to recreate my Facebook Page. (  If you had “Liked” that previous page – it will be deleted soon, and this current address will be the permanent one.  I have no idea what I did, but I messed up when I started the first one 🙂

So, onto the manicure part of my nail polish blog!

I have 2 versions of this manicure.  There was just something missing, so when you see the second set of pics – it’s the same manicure, just with a little extra pizazz on each nail.

As much as I would like to say that I am super ambitious, and did 2 full nail art manicures in 1 day…. alas, I am too lazy.

# 1 mani has a base of Nfu Oh Holo # 66 and stripes of orange and black (that’s the Halloween part of the manicure 🙂 )

And the # 2 mani is the same as the above, but I’ve added 2 coats of SpectraFlair top coat, and two big fat orange glitter pieces on each nail.

Day 5 Halloween “No Name” Scaaaarey Manicure!

Simple, yet still Hawlloween’ish 🙂  And I still found a way to add glitter!  Have I mentioned, I love Glitter???!!!  In particular, SPECTRAFLAIR!!   I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy some of my own spectraflair pigment to add to my nail polishes.

So, this manicure was started with a base of plain creme black (Wet n Wild) 2 layers of a SpectraFlair topcoat, and the stitches (inspired by this post)  were done with an “Art Deco” by “LA Colors” striping brush in a lime green (? they didn’t have a name on the bottle).

Ta Da !!!
